Tamil Culture Part Of Sanatana Dharma

People who were living North of Vindhyas  were not seemingly unaware of the existence of the Great Culture that was thriving in the Dravida, meaning South, part of India , The South of Vindhya ranges.

Viswamitra, banished his 52 sons to Dravida for having disobeyed and questioned him to the Dravidian  Region.

They found a superior culture, if not on par with the Vedic culture to be thriving there.

They found that , of all the civilizations known then , The Tamils were the only Culture, who were so evolved that they ascribed  five landmasses in their territory, ascribed Gods, birds.Animals, Palnts, Lifestyle to each of these Divisions, this was explained in Agathiyam , Thokappiyam , the ancient Grammatical works of the Tamil language, dated some five thousands years!

Curious fact is that these Tamil texts quote Vedas and they , in turn, quote, the Tamils!

  

The great Tamil Chera King Nedunchearalaathan was the man who fed both the armies of the Mahabharata War, Kauravas and Pandavas.

He had been addressed as P’erunchotru Udiyan’ one who fed many number of Stomachs-Nedunchotru Uthiyan Neduncheralaathan was how he was called.

He donated 100 veli( one veli= 100 acres) of land to Brahmins on the condition that he should see the Homa Smoke in the morning from this area every morning!

There are references to Arjuna marrying a Princess from Madurai on his pilgrimage.

Now coming back to Viswamitra’s sons.

The sons of Viswamitra mingled with the Tamils and followed the Tamil Customs.

Their descendant , Apasthamaba, combined the best of Tamil practices and the Sanatana Dharma ad compiled the Apashamba Sutra, which is practiced by the Brahmins even to-day(Apasthamba Sutra)

One notable custom is the inclusion of Mangaya Dharana, Thali in a Marriage, which is not found in Vedic Marriages.

In Santana Dharma, marriage is complete with the performance of Panigrahana and Sapthapati.

And the wearing of ‘Metti’, wring worn around the toe of the leg of Man was practiced among the Tamils, to indicate that he was married.(women were described as not looking at Men in the Face!)

This custom was changed to Women by Apasthamba.

Read the following information to complicate the issue.

Evidence indicates that Apsthamba compiled the practices of the Tamils  and the Sanatana Dharma was unaware of the Tamils Culture.

Yet Archaeological and other Puranic references indicate that there was interaction between the two great cultures.

It seems that there were two different cultures existing side by side at the same time.

Or is it that both were One and that History is lost in India , as usual with us.

Supercars $150m in Dubai Guinness World Record

Over 150 million dollars worth of supercars took part with brands including Bugatti, Ferrari, Lamborghini and Rolls Royce.

360MEA, THE DUBAI based Virtual Reality startup has made a Supercars Parade video in Meydan, Dubai. The resulting 360 degrees interactive production enables you to control and view every angle of the show, which recently took place near the racecourse.

Over 150 million dollars worth of supercars took part with brands including Bugatti, Ferrari, Lamborghini and Rolls Royce.

Whilst the feat itself was impressive, the video has also entered the Guinness World Records for two separate achievements. The first was for 58 different car brands participating in one event and the other - the world's largest selfie relay with 289 participants.

How to tie a Tie

Windsor Knot

• Start with the wide end of the tie on the right and the small end on the left. The tip of the small end should rest slightly above your belly-button (this will vary depending on your height and the length & thickness of your tie). Only move the active (wide) end.
• Wide end over the small end to the left.
• Up into the neck loop from underneath.
• Down to the left.
• Around the back of the small end to the right.
• Up to the center, towards neck loop.
• Through the neck loop and down to the right.
• Across the front to the left.
• Up into the neck loop from underneath.
• Down through the loop you've just created in the front.
• Tighten the knot by pulling down on the wide end. Slide the knot up & adjust.

69th Independence Day of India 2015

Independence Day of India would be celebrated by the people all over the India on 15^th of August 2015, at Saturday. This year in 2015 India would celebrate its 69^th Independence Day. The first Independence Day was celebrated in India on 15^th August 1947, Jawaharlal Nehru, who had become the first Prime Minister of India that day, raised the Indian national flag above the Lahore Gate of the Red Fort in Delhi.

A big celebration event will be organized by the government of India at the Rajpath, India Gate in the National Capital, New Delhi where people of all religion, culture and tradition gather to listen the patriotic speech of our Prime Minister. By celebrating this event we commemorate those all great people who had sacrificed their lives and loved ones in making India an Independent country.

Why 15th Aug?

It was Lord Mountbatten who had personally decided the date of Aug 15 because he had considered that date to be “very lucky” for his career. During the World War II, it was on Aug 15, 1945 (Japan time zone) that the Japanese Army had surrendered before him (Lord Mountbatten was the commander of the allied forces).

Why midnight?

When the date of independence was decided in “June 3 plan” and announced to public, there was an outrage among astrologers across the country because 15-Aug-1947 was an “unfortunate & unholy” date according to astrological calculations. Alternative dates were suggested but Lord Mountbatten was adamant on Aug 15 (since it was his lucky date). As a workaround, the astrologers suggested the midnight hour between Aug 14 and 15 due to the simple reason that the day according to English starts at 12 AM, but according to Hindu calendar, starts at sunrise.

Some Freedom Fighters

Today is a day of celebration and to realize our freedom. Thousands of our freedom fighters sacrificed their lives and millions of them struggled in order to drive away British rulers and constituted a system of democracy centered on us i.e. voters, so that we have a say in the Govt. How our nation has fared over the last 69 years is something we cannot change but the future is in our hands. Let us ensure that we exercise our rights and proudly participate in our democracy so that our nation heads in the right direction.
